The Parable Of The Rich Man

You want to be noticed? Quit trying to be noticed then
You want to be first? Well, you go stand at the very end
You want to be elevated? This time you go lower
These are the rules of the Kingdom
This is how we all begin growing

I said, you want to stay focused? Then don't lose your focus then
Come first with your struggle, with ain't no need just to hold it in
The end is approaching, you see, when life gets to closing in
It's time for salvation, you must repent and be born again

Hey, let me tell you 'bout the rich man and the man the called, the poor
The rich man, he had everything, the poor man having non
Couldn't even eat the crumbs that were crumblin' off the plate
He was beggin' at the gates, it ain't my fault, man, ain't ate

"Get out my way, get out my face"
Treated him like wasted space
"I would never break no bread with you, how dare you say to wait?
The poor man was Lazarus, the rich man spoke so blasphemous
He spoke to God's creation in the way that Satan laughs at us

Gassing up, a chance to help another as a friend
For he who knows what's right and don't do right, man, that's the sin
How dare you try to think that God'll bless you with abundance
Just so you can have it all and leave your brother there with nothing?

Hey, blessed be the blessed, see giving is important
You sacrifice for other, in a way that it's restoring
Here's the flip side to the story, see life can be rewarding
The poor man went to paradise, the rich man when to torment, so sad

You gave us the stars, You gave us the sea
I give You my all, 'cause I want them to see
So grateful for who You made me to be

Times that I feel weak, I'm strong in You
And everything I have, it belongs to You

He's screaming, "Abraham, Abraham, these flames are gettin' hotter!
Hey, please go tell Lazarus, man, please bring me some water!"
But these are the consequences, you drownin' in your vomit
There is a gulf that is between us, he can't cross it if he wanted

"I know I'm a wicked man, please go tell my brothers
So they ain't gotta come down here, so they ain't gotta suffer!"
"Remember, you was rich and Lazarus was poor
Your brothers got the same chance, man, the same way you had yours."

Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others

When you give to the needy, don't announce it with a trumpet
As hypocrites do in synagogues and on the streets

Tryna be honored by others
But I tell you, they have their reward right there and then in their full
But when you give, don't let your left hand know what your right hand's doing
So that your giving may be in secret
And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you

Come on, man, be generous, He's generous
Be compassionate, He's compassionate
Be full of love, He's full of love
He gave his Son to die for you, He gave His life so you can live
How're you repaying Him that?
Are you walking around just greedy, stiff neck?
Full of pride, and lost, and hate

I rebuke that in the name of Jesus Christ, and the blood of Christ
Come against sin they might've planed
Any type of division, doubt or distraction, disbelief
Anything you breathe, King over righteousness
