The world keeps getting darker
So many lose their way
But I found peace in a faithful friend
He goes by the name Yahweh

When the world feels good and the pain's behind
But pride builds towers made of straw and bone
And every king will crawl back home

No river to wash, just mercy's rain
I rose from the mud still bearing His name
When the devil comes a-prowling, trying to drag me down
The Lord, He calls me forward still to higher solid ground
I chased desire till it burned me down
Learned what grace costs when the lights go out
And when the noise finally disappeared
All I heard was the sound of fear
